Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive testing strategies for large-scale enterprise IT systems. This role involves planning, organizing, and performing manual and automated testing across various platforms and environments, ensuring software quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations such as AODA. The specialist collaborates closely with development, project management, and business teams to deliver robust, high-quality software solutions within Agile and traditional methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on testing strategies, test plans, tool selection, and resource allocation.
- Plan and organize testing efforts for GUI and non-GUI systems including integration, functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Micro Focus UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to validate system scalability and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, and quality metrics.
- Provide input for user manuals and release notes.
- Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards, security best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Validate data integrity and perform backend testing including data migration and transformation testing.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software testing within enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
- Proven expertise in manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, Micro Focus UFT).
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Proficiency with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, or ALM.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end testing, including functional, integration, regression, acceptance, and security testing.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins, Git, GitLab).
- Experience with databases such as SQL and Oracle.
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash).
- Comprehensive understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
- Experience ensuring compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in at least one programming language.
- Knowledge of object-oriented testing methods and information management principles.
- Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
- Experience with information retrieval packages.
- Experience developing and managing robust test data strategies, ensuring data privacy and managing test environments.
- Experience conducting basic security testing and collaborating with security specialists for penetration testing.
- Knowledge of additional automated testing tools such as Cypress or TestComplete.
Special Considerations:
- Must comply with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) regulations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure with aggressive timelines.
- Onsite presence required for 5 days.

- Standard work schedule with requirement for onsite attendance as specified.
- Participation in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- May require flexibility to meet project deadlines and support testing cycles.
